Transfer Day: A Centennial of the Virgin Islands of the United States

A guide to resources on the United States Virgin Islands to commemorate the centennial of transfer of jurisdiction from Denmark to the United States of America

Welcome!

March 31, 2017 is Transfer Day, a holiday observed in the Virgin Islands of the United States (St. Croix, St. John, St. Thomas). This year is particularly significant since it marks the 100th anniversary of the transfer of geopolitical jurisdiction from Denmark to the United States of America, and thus, the Dansk vestindiske became the US Virgin Islands/Virgin Islands of the United States. This guide seeks to recognize the event by highlighting library resources on the US Virgin Islands.
